Theme Party

Among the traditional parties that have fallen by the way, one of the saddest losses is Theme Party.

As noted in the entry on Halloween Party, there is something about the way Taus are constructed that makes them want to put on silly costumes, elaborately decorate the lounge, and act generally goofy. Theme Party, held in the spring semester, was our excuse to do this a second time during the year.

A theme would be set: The Roaring 20s, M*A*S*H, Comic Books, The 60s, Under the Sea, etc. The decorations in the lounge would fit the theme and attendees were expected to wear costumes that fit the theme.

Because of the expense and effort involved, when the House experienced a period with relatively low membership and therefore a reduced income, the members were forced to drop Theme Party from the line up of spring activities.
